A jaw crusher is a type of crusher whereby material is compressed between a fixed and mobile jaw die.
The feed material is subjected to repeated pressure as it passes downwards and is progressively reduced in size. Once small enough, it is discharged from the bottom of the crushing chamber.
Compared to other types of crushers (e.g. impact crushers), jaw crushers produce less fines.
